Artist must already possess requisite skills and be able to submit profile / portfolio / gallery / resume. We will not hire you to learn.
If you have a set of complete, original artwork which sufficiently meets our needs, we are willing to license it from you. Terms are negotiable. (indefinite / exclusive / one time use / for a percentage...)
This is an indie game project being undertaken by a small team. While this should be viewed as a contest, we do have a budget. We will actively look for ways to either employ the right people or compensate them to the extent possible within our means.
A): Submit your own original work for review to compete for a position on the team.
B): Work under contract selling your work as it is completed at a predetermined price.
C): License any work you have already completed.
Team members share in royalties.
Commission price is negotiable and may include royalties. We are looking for very few artists in order to preserve a consistent visual theme.
Project is confidential.
All parties will sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
This is an old school project with a custom color palette, vintage resolution and retro sound. (Consider titles like: Shantae, Metal Slug, Freedom Planet, Shovel Knight, Keio Flying Squadron, Popful Mail, and Darkstalkers).
Full size promotional hero villain art work.
Several side-scrolling sprites with idle animations, walk/run, attack, jump, sneak, hang, climb, faint... in resolutions akin to 16Bit & 32Bit consoles.
Main (hero/enemy) characters may have several extra animations.
Some sprites for NPCs, enemies and various Flora & Fauna with a few animations.
Some large, close-up character art with minimal speaking animation for dialogue.
Overhead world map tiles and character sprites navigating the map (i.e. most early Final Fantasy overworld maps).
Possibly more art related to overhead interiors like shops, homes and dungeons.
More art may be negotiated as needed.
SteamPunk Sci-Fi - mature content (suggestive themes, use of alcohol, tobacco, weapons, violence, nudity).
As wide a distribution as we can reasonably manage, tiered, and multi-platform.
We are also looking for an equally experienced chip-tune music composer / mod tracker composer, and sound design artist (with the same requisite resume / possible catalog from which to license). We would prefer someone you have worked with before. Do not recommend an artist you do not know how to reach.
